Seiko Introduces the PADI Special Edition Diver “62MAS”

Retro style in blue and red with the ref. SPB071J1.

Seiko had a hit on its hands when it introduced the first PADI dive watch, the result of a tie-up with the dive training organisation. That spawned a series of watches, with the latest based on the “62MAS” remake, now clad in the PADI colours of red and blue.

The Prospex PADI Special Edition 200m (ref. SPB071J1) has a graduated blue dial that darkens towards the base, along with a stamped wave motif. The minute hand is in red, as are the markers at the quarters, while the bezel has a blue coating.

Colours aside the PADI edition is identical to the standard model, which is based on the first ever Seiko dive watch from 1965, the “62MAS”. Featuring the characterised straight case edge at the lugs, the steel case is 42.6mm in diameter, with the hacking, automatic 6R15 inside.
